A Room With a View from Osaka
6
View from my window, near Kansai International AirportWell, today I felt the need to write my own “view from my window” post with a fancy title. That’s right, that was my view from the 9th floor of the Kansai Japanese-Language Institute, located in Osaka, Rinku Town, a lovely place to be. I’m not sure what that building is, but the bridge to the left leads to the Kansai International Airport, the one located in an artificial island, remember? Keep on reading for more images!
UPDATE: I just found out that the not-so-interesting building is actually the 256-meters tall Rinku Gate Tower Building, one of the tallest in Japan and the whole world. Whoops!
Sky Gate Bridge R: the only way into Kansai International AirportThe road that seems to lead nowhere actually leads to the airport, also known as 関空 (Kankū). That’s the only way out of Kankū, so you can either take the train, bus, or pay for a $100 taxi. Don’t take a taxi.
The Institute was about five minutes away from the beach (walking!)Here’s a nice view from the beach near the Institute, my other relaxing window. At night, people hang out and you can see fireworks everywhere, so it’s a great place to be, anytime of the day.
Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to The Nihon Sun’s Looking Out The Window In Japan compilation, so as a bonus, here’s one of my favorite views:
View from the Osaka CastleIt’s quite amazing how a 4-century old castle lives in perfect harmony with modern skyscrapers. Well, welcome to Japan! Hope you enjoyed my window view, and be sure to subscribe to our content!

Very nice pictures. You are sooo lucky.
Why no pictures OF Osaka castle? That would be beautiful
too.
Hi Mike, thanks!
I love Osaka more than any other place in Japan, and of course I took lots of pictures of Osaka Castle too. I’ll definitely be talking more about Osaka and different sight-seeings including the Castle soon :)
Cheers~
O, I love the pictures. Great views all the way around. :)
Yeah Osaka is nice :) I was there at the end of ’06 and passed back through (I had a layover at Kansai Int’l and just saw the the lights at night :P). Great site you got going ^^ Keep up the good work.
АААА!!!!! I WANT THERE!!!!!!! AS I WISH TO LIVE IN JAPAN!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh… this picture brought back memories. I stayed in a hotel right in front of that tall building there the night before I left to go back to America. I love Osaka so much. We were going to go check out the view from the top of that building, but they wanted something like… ¥1,000 to ¥3,000 to only go half way up! So instead we just spent out time walking around and soaking up as much of the city as we could on our last night there. I wish I had known there was a beach so close! I wold have loved to go there!
