JapanSoc.org Logo

JapanSoc.org logo

Just wanted to make another *official* announcement of the JapanSoc.org logo, Nick from JapanSoc decided that we needed  a new logo for the new online Japan-potpourri community JapanSoc.org and held an open contest with nice reward to let us choose for the best logo. My logo was the winner (thanks for everyone who voted!), and I’d like to personally thank every single one of the sponsors:

Nick from JapanSoc.com — is a social-bookmarking site related to Japan where users vote for the best stories and news. It’s your number one stop in the morning to read what’s going on in Japan!

Shibuya246 — is a blog about the latest trends from different products in Japan, some quite innovative and some a little bit bizarre (it’s Japan alright ^^). The webmaster has lived in Shibuya for a while now, synonym to Japanese fashion and nightlife.

Jamaipanese — is a Proud Jamaican and Japan Enthusiast’s blog, where you will find virtually anything related to Japan (Gundams and all), but also lots of news related to Jamaica, tech gadgets, and cars too! (And as a sidenote, will probably kill me in table tennis/ping pong -_-)

Blog Link Japan — is an excellent compilation of all Japan blogs and the latest news on all these blogs. You won’t miss anything related to Japan!

Hao from Instant-Ramen.net — well, I was a sponsor too so I get the chance to brag about the greatness of my blog too! :)

Each one sponsored the competition for a total of $50 USD which I wasted invested on ramen, beer, and women, as promised ^^.

ありがと〜♪~♪ d(⌒o⌒)b♪~♪やった〜!

But what’s JapanSoc.org anyway?

It’s the community for all Japan-related bloggers, where we all share a common goal (conquer the Earth in giant Gundams you know) and we can open discussions, promote your work, seek for help, or anything else. So if you’re into it, we invite you to join JapanSoc.org! That’s the short version, but here’s a more detailed definition of the community.

GFC? Genki Fried Chicken?

Close, but no, it stands for Google Friend Connect, which allows internet users to connect and link with their friends on different websites, using social gadgets to make it more interactive. More interactive = more fun = more ramen! I just added my own GFC widget (on your right) so feel free to join me! ^^

I’d also like to thank everyone here and there who has been helping the J-web community become more united and create all these things to unite us all in search of sunrise. Oh, and don’t forget to check the latest Japan Blog Matsuri about Foreign Food! I also added the new Delicious Feeds on the right side, to share my own luv to the community ^^;

New layer…

Hey Hao, thanks for the plug! :-)

I’ve linked this announcement from my Google Friend Connect post.

Oh, and thanks for adding me to your ‘Delicious Feeds’. I like that idea. I may consider adding something like that too! Blog Roll seems so 2008!

PS I can think of a few more phrases for the acronym GFC but am unable to publish them here in case children are viewing. Okay, first word ‘Get”… hmmmm, sorry. :-)

Good stuff, Hao!

I like the way the sun has been cut in half in the square image. When I added it to the title in the Google group, it got cut in half automatically, but I actually prefer this way!

Thanks guys! ^^

reesan: seems too 2008? You saying 2008 is old? I still play StarCraft and that’s 1998! :D

BTW I can also think of another R rated GFC, but I won’t publish it since my sexuality is very clear for me ^^;

nick: Yeah, the sun cut in half gives it a funny look. Looks great on the wiki too ^^!

[...] If your site is not listed above and it should be, drop me a line here. A special shout-out goes to Hao from Instant Ramen for winning the JapanSoc.org logo competition. He fended off some fierce competition to take the USD50.00 prize. I hear that, with these winnings, he has been able to retire on a beach in Costa Rica. Check out Hao’s japansoc.org announcement here. [...]
