    Hangry Engrish

    I was until I found out that they served a sort of pork. (Thanks Osk)

    MaxValu (Engrish)

    MaxValu spotted in Rinku Town, Osaka. MaxValu is actually a large chain of super markets in Japan. Previously I had mentioned this Engrish on my Rinku Town photo article but this picture is far more convincing.

    Not sure if this one or the National Meseum one in Narita is more amazing, but I’m sure this one reaches a wider audience — Japanese Wikipedia states that there is a total of 576 MaxValu stores.

    Which reminds me, super markets and many convinience stores in Japan are open 24/7, which is indeed convenient ^^; — is this your case in your own country? In my case it isn’t.

    Engrish National Meseum Narita Airport Japan

    Spotted this Engrish on my way home, at Narita Airport. I find it amazing that there is no one at the most important airport in Japan that can run a spell check on their computers, don’t you? Anyway, we were thinking of either visiting the National Meseum or Tokyo Disney Land since we had like 20 hours before our flight, but in the end decided to go omiyage shopping.

    Anyway, I’ve been working on a few layout changes and learning jQuery, an excellent alternative to my nemesis pure Javascript. One of the changes I just finished is the Related News section below. If you click on the Switch to Currently Read link, you’ll see that other news are dynamically loaded. Expect more of these changes and in the meantime, gomen ne if you spot something weird ^^ lemme know via Twitter if I messed something up :) I’ll see how I can pay you back!

    Engrish Shit on a Chair

    Japanese love writing poems, especially when it comes to feeling ronery and doing their bowels on a chair, definitely not the most romantic way to wait for someone. I think they got the toilette thing wrong ^^;

    Thanks Rei*!

    BTW, I’m finally back with my layout after Instant Ramen April Fools’ joke, had a lot of fun with retweets, bashing from Danny Choo members (sorry guys!), Japansoc’ers, and dozens of Google users who were a tad confused. Just posting so that my RSS feed comes back to life, will blog about my risky decision of imitating DannyChoo.com early tomorrow! :)
